Monday night at The Lager House Detroit

I don't think I would have posted this one today other than the fact that I was just in West Branch this weekend - was up north doing some fishing and drinking and motorcross and all that good stuff that you do up north (well except for a campfire - for some reason)

anyway - I was in West Branch which is best known for its stripper fights locally and gutter mouth pimpsters who think West Branch is the true ghetto star's home.

My time was spent at a local ART BATTLE (pics to follow I guess) at the Enchante' Salon owned and operated by the beautiful Chantelle Marie Perreault who actually had contact the MCB back before the Detroit Art Battle requesting some coverage of her event. As I was headed up state my phone rang and since the stars had aligned (and I had forgot about Art Battle West Branch) it so happened the event was the same weekend. It was a mix of artists participating and the winner was a guy who from what I hear really thinks his work is something special and likes to spout off about it as well.

Anyway - check out West Branch exiles The Valley Ghosts tonight at PJLH and if you are up in West Branch check out the Enchante' Salon for killer artwork and a cool haircut to boot.

The Valley Ghosts w/The Decks, The Vezinas
10pm

The Valley Ghosts are a young group in from West Branch, Michigan. VG are just out of high school. The group has a nice, clean sound and are a good fit with The Decks. The Decks are Detroit's highest energy twentysomethings with catchy hooks and infectious attitude. The Decks are part of the up-and-coming and exciting group of young Detroit musicians who realize there's more to rock'n'roll than just drinking heavily. They play often with groups like JSB Squad, Mick Bassett & the Marthas and the rest of that ilk. The Vezinas are a collection of random boys looking for random girls to take on day trips to the south to sing songs about freedom, sadness, and hockey.
