Harper Blynn - iLounge Pontiac - Sat 6/19

Brooklyn quartet Harper Blynn are hitting the road for their debut album, Loneliest Generation. It’s an album about something, as the title suggests, with songs like “25 Years” and “The Doubt” which reflect the concerns of band’s two 20-something songwriters: Pete Harper (guitar/keyboards) and J.Blynn (guitars), along with Sarab Singh (drums) and “Whynot” Jansveld. (bass). Produced by David Kahne (The Strokes, Regina Spektor, Paul McCartney) with two tracks produced by Malcolm Burn (Emmylou Harris, Chris Whitley, Kaki King, Bob Dylan), this is a stunning first album that shows a band in full control of their talents. Harper Blynn’s timeless sound melds dead-on, glorious four-part harmonies with their finely honed sense of songcraft and spot-on live performances. They were named Paste Magazine’s #1 band discovered at CMJ last year and were recently dubbed the “Best of What’s Next.”
