MARGOT & THE NUCLEAR SO AND SO'S:

BUZZARD IN STORES TODAY

Margot & the nuclear so and so's third album Buzzard hits stores today via the band's own Mariel Recordings (with distribution via Redeye). Recorded over one freezing month last winter in singer/guitarist Richard Edwards' adopted hometown of Chicago, IL, the album distills the band's music to its essence: melody-driven pop music with teeth. Margot's evolution to this newly raw, forceful sound has been earning the band - now the core trio of Edwards and longtime Margot members Tyler Watkins and Erik Kang (a host of Chicago musician friends join them in the studio and on the road) - high praise from the press.

Margot & the nuclear so and so's are three dates in to a massive Fall headlining tour. The first leg picks back up tonight in Ann Arbor, MI, at the Blind Pig and concludes October 15th in the band's original hometown of Indianapolis, IN, at the Broad Ripple Music Festival.

STATIC RECORDS RELEASES THE NEW ALBUM BY THE BUCK BROTHERS

Indie label Static Records based in Detroit, Michigan announces their 29th title this month. The album "We Are Merely Filters" is the second album by the UK band the Buck Brothers. This is also the first non-Michigan based band on the Static Records roster.

The Buck Brothers, a punk rock trio from London successfully achieved a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records for ‘highest number of gigs performed in 12 hours’ in their native London with 28 shows played in 10 hours on March 5, 2007. In 2008, Buck Brothers became the first band since The Police (in 1978) to perform at the House of Lords. Their debut album "Me" landed on the CMJ Top 200 national album chart and their song "Girls, Skirts, Boots, Bikes" was the most played and requested song on legendary DJ Rodney Bingenheimer's "Rodney on the Roq" radio show on LA's KROQ. Their second album "We Are Merely Filters" was released in the UK this spring and will be released in the U.S. on September 13. The album features a cover of the '80s song "Pop Muzik" by M. and ten other tracks such as "When I Look At You (All I Think About Is Sex)" and "She's Not Wearing Any" that recall the punk/pop sound of The Buzzcocks.

Static Records discovered the band playing at the annual North By Northeast International Music Festival in 2007 when their CD "Me" was included in the conference goody bag. Intrigued by their music, label founder Sue Static checked out their show and an internet friendship between the two entities formed afterward. The band toured the U.S. the following year with a stop at SXSW. When the band found themselves without a label in the States, Static stepped in to offer their services. Sue Static elaborates on the band's teaming up with Static, "After receiving hundreds of CDs in goody bags at conferences throughout the years, The Buck Brothers was one that caught my attention as this is the music that I enjoy and I'm glad to have them on the Static roster."

The album will be available for sale thru the Static Records website
www.staticrecords.com, the bands official website-BuckBrothers.net and the online retailers; Amazon.com, CDBaby.com and Interpunk.com websites along with digital distribution on iTunes.

The band will also be touring stateside later this year with a show in Detroit.
