RUSSELL INDUSTRIAL CENTER FALL OPEN HOUSE

The Russell Industrial Center features the Detroit-area's greatest artists and craft workers during Art Detroit Now's annual showcase Gallery Week. This special event runs from 6pm-10pm on October 2nd and is open to art lovers of all ages. There is no cost for this event and the entire campus will be available for attendees to explore and discover some of the area's most talented artists.

Showcasing in this year's Open House are their art collectives, painters, wood workers, clothing designers, metal sculptors and much more. Many internationally known artists reside in the Russell Industrial Center and will be on hand for people to browse their work spaces. The artists will open there studios to the public which is a rare opportunity for other artists and art buyers to get a glimpse at where and the Russell Artists create.

There is so much to discover in the Russell Industrial Center's seven building complex. Besides individual artist studios and workshops, there are a variety of galleries to browse through as well. The Detroit Industrial Project will be featuring "Mis•tak•en" which is new work by Brooks Harris Stevens. The installation consists of a pathway created by formed paper and suspended organza dresses artistically done. The MONA will also be featuring a very special show from Amanda Faye Cain.
