Janet Robin - Hard Rock Cafe Detroit - Thursday 11/11

JANET ROBIN BRINGS HER DYNAMIC SOLO ACOUSTIC PERFORMANCE
TO DETROIT’S HARD ROCK CAFÉ ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 11

The World-Class Guitarist Will Also Give A GUITAR WORKSHOP
At The BLACK CRYSTAL CAFÉ In ANN ARBOR On SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 13

Los Angeles musician Janet Robin brings her dynamic solo acoustic performance to the Hard Rock Café in downtown Detroit on Thursday, November 11 at 8:00pm. Three-time Detroit Music Awards Outstanding Country Vocalist nominee Julianne opens the show. A well-respected guitarist, Robin will also be hosting a Guitar Workshop in Ann Arbor on Saturday, November 13 at the Black Crystal Café. Admission to the workshop is $15.

Music audiences around the world have seen and heard Janet Robin’s incredible guitar work as a former featured touring member of the Lindsey Buckingham Band (Fleetwood Mac), Meredith Brooks Band and, most recently, Air Supply. Her abilities as a guitarist have garnered the admiration of many in the music industry including Michelle Shocked who called Robin “one of the best guitarists in the country: male or female.” In addition to being an artist, Robin is also a respected clinician for Line 6 and is endorsed by Taylor Guitars, Turner Guitars, Seymour Duncan and Alfred Publishing among others.

With the help of her dedicated fan base, the electrifying musician was able to raise the funds necessary to record her latest studio effort, Everything Has Changed. This loyal support enabled her to team up with producer John Carter Cash (son of Johnny and June) at Cash Cabin Studios outside of Nashville. A producer on the biopic Walk The Line, Carter Cash produced several records for his father as well as a Grammy Award winning record for June. Built by Johnny in 1979, this studio is where the country legend recorded much of his later work including his final recording, American VI: Ain’t No Grave, which was posthumously released earlier this year and co-produced by Rick Rubin and John Carter. "We have talked at great length about this project and he understands my desire and vision to record an album that is representative of my live performances," Robin says of Carter Cash. "In John, I have finally found a producer who understands what I am striving to achieve in the studio."

Everything Has Changed bridges the gap between passionate acoustic music and gutsy rock n’ roll. The 11-track collection showcases Robin’s stunning range as a songwriter, singer and guitarist and includes a co-write with Maia Sharp (Dixie Chicks, Bonnie Raitt, Trisha Yearwood). Also included are covers of the Roy Orbison hit “Dream Baby” and PJ Harvey’s “This Is Love.” Introduced to Hypertension Music by Colin Hay (Men At Work), Robin recently signed a European licensing and booking deal with the German company who released Everything Has Changed in February 2010.
