Velvet Margarita's 7th Annual Halloween Monster Ball

Remember me?! Coulda, shoulda, woulda. KHP here, checking in again with an update. I may have been under the biggest rock in the deepest hole in the absolute midst of nowhere, but I've still got a pulse. I think. It might just be nerves. I also just invested in a new fisheye lens so you'll probably be seeing a lot more of me 'round these parts. HA!

Last Saturday was that time of year again, for Hollywood's biggest creeps to come out and lurk in the dark & foggy corners of the world-famous Velvet Margarita Cantina in Hollywood, CA. This year marked their 7th annual Monster Ball, a Halloween fiesta in which the staff and owner's closest friends and special guests are invited to join as the biggest spooks raise hell, and the dead (happy Dia de los Muertos). By hell and the dead, of course I mean rock n roll inside and outside on the Rock n Soul Patio as well as complimentary "spirits" and drink specials brought to you by TEQUILA HERRADURA, CRYSTAL HEAD VODKA & MONSTER ENERGY DRINK. Along with complimentary appetizers, Paul and Sarah Vato of Vato Cuban Cigars were also set up with their table on the patio. Special guests this year included Siri Garber, Andy Chino, DJ Richie Rich, DJ Lethal, Skatemaster Tate, and of course the hosts and owners, Big Daddy Carlos and Ava.

The party was a complete success and of course the house reached capacity instantly and stayed full til the end, just like the infamous Cinco de Mayo fiestas. Real parties never end. The costumes were plenty, as required for entry every year, and the good vibes & good tunes flowed throughout. -Even the Hollywood sign itself showed up, along with Gumby, Costa Rican Barbie fresh off the sands, Princess Leia, David Wooderson, Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, Snooki, Amy Winehouse, Captain Crunch, and some seriously fucked up looking twin clowns. -Probably the best costume pair in my opinion. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves as guests and friends usually do whenever invited to a special event at the VMC. "Who loves ya, baby?!"

See you groovy ghouls next year?!

Over 'n out.
