The first ever Electric Forest Festival plays out on 4th of July weekend in Rothbury Michigan.

There are tons of electronic music being played from sundown to sunrise. Camping is a great experience and not only is the festival a part of it, but the people make it up. You'll find all sorts of people traveling to Michigan for this festival or tons of Michiganders all come from around Michigan to enjoy this festival.

Here's a video of the festival and a sneak peak of what might come next year.
Video features crowd shots of Bassnectar,Pretty Lights, and Future Rock.

There were hammocks among hammocks where people were laying in the forest. And at night it was like entering another world. Everything lit up like christmas, but instead of all the christmas spirit, you got people dancing and throwing thousands upon thousands of glow sticks flying in the air everytime a beat dropped.

Tons of people came for the music, more came for the experience. I went for both. There were loads of vendors giving out amazing street food from greek salads to cajun chicken. Those people are the people that kept us alive for 4 days. We should be thanking those vendors and thanking ourselves for bringing so much water to the festival.

When you plan on going next year, make sure to visit the website and look at it thoroughly because the site has everything you need to know about what to bring to camp and what not to bring. The drive is nice and the ranch is beautiful. There was a great press tent that had internet access and also a vip swimming pool. Media had it made compared to what other people were doing there. But all in all, the festival was safe and it was family oriented which is a plus.

By next year there will be an even bigger turn out than this year. Since we had Edward Sharpe perform this year, the line up was superb. They've been on late night talk shows performing on shows such as Conan O'brian. And if you haven't heard or seen this music video for their single "home"
I advise you to check it out, and watch this cover, it will blow you away.
