9/12/11
Wild At Heart
Wild At Heart
Despite seeing signs of 9/11 everywhere I went this weekend, I really don’t have anything to add to what has been said or done so I won’t try at this point.
On another note, I would like to send congrats to the Detroit Lions winning their opening game against the Bucs. I have been following their progress over the preseason and was happy they are showing a little more spunk this year. Hopefully they will try a little less of their prevent defense so early in the game and continue to push their limits on the field. Fingers crossed for a winning record.
I was a bit sad that the wonderful actor Cliff Robertson passed away this weekend. Today’s audience will know him best as Uncle Ben in the “Spiderman” movies, but I’ll always remember him as the only actor to win an best acting Oscar at the Academy Awards for a role in a sci-fi film (that being “Charly” in 1968).
The rest of my weekend was spent working at home and hitting our Irish Festival and a local art festival where I was able to get my parents there birthday and anniversary gifts. Bonus points for double duty. I also saw a local singer Jenna Wientraub (of local rockabilly band Krypton 88 of which I'll include a video of one of the better Rochester bands I have found). She was performing as part of a vaudville performance at one of our local record stores (the Bop Shop).
Here are some upcoming shows which I recommed this week. I always enjoyed the DIY Street Fair in Ferndale so make sure to get down there and support it.
