SESSION 2
October 29, 2011 - 6:00pm - 8:00pm
Monster myths, cockroach races, medieval-style warfare, and ScreamPark360, a haunted roller coaster in space, are all part of the Institute’s Halloween Science event on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 2-4 or 6-8pm.
This popular annual event is the creepiest, and just-scary-enough, educational experience the Institute offers. This year features Dr. Kelp presenting his Zombie research; science demo stations (liquid nitro, dry ice, hair raising Van de Graff, glowing rocks); Make and Take activities; a scavenger hunt; trick or treating, and much more! Throughout the event, visitors can see the Bat Zone’s vampire bats or explore the wonders of our planet in Life on Earth! featuring Explore Evolution. Outside, the Institute’s three-ton trebuchet, a modern version of a medieval siege weapon, will hurl objects into the air. Costumes are encouraged!
Halloween Science tickets for pre-registered attendees are $13 per child and $2 per adult for Members, and $16 per child and $5 per adult for the general public. There is an additional $3 per ticket after close of pre-registration. Only pre-registered guests are guaranteed a goodie bag. Pre-registration closes at 5pm Weds. Oct. 26. Register online or by calling 248 645.3210.
