James Leg, growler, shouter, composer, and Fender Rhodes finger-f*cker, of the Black Diamond Heavies, steps out with some friends for more songs of hedonistic excess, crazy ass women, and Southern salvation. On his new record,  "Solitary Pleasure" he is joined by longtime friend and Cincinnati heavy hitter, Andy Jet Jody (The Gazelles, Pearlene, The Long Gones, The Customs, Oxford Cotton, Barrence Whitfield and The Savages) on drums.

The album was recorded in December 2010 in Tennessee, in the oldest standing church in Rutherford County, now the home of the all analog studio, Grand Palace Studio. The result was then rushed up to Detroit and mixed by Jim Diamond at Ghetto Recorders.

The Crooks -  "Earth Shakes," touches on psychedelia in both its vocals and vibe before concluding with a beautiful, pop-heavy, almost Beatlesque, instrumental coda. And Led Zeppelin does turn up in bits and pieces here and there, most notably on the dynamic instrumental break in themiddle of "Black Cow".The instrumental stuff is where the trio really shines, obviously. Jordan Kreb admirably proves himself to be one helluva guitarist throughout these eight tracks, while drummer Ben Van Camp and bassist Taylor Reynolds re-createthe dynamism of classic rhythm teams of yore, including, but not limited to, Baker-Bruce and Bonham-Jones." - Metrotimes.
