Robert Tucker: Torn and Painted in the Desert
April 20 – May 25, 2012
Opening Reception Friday, April 20, 6:00 – 9:00 pm

Paint Creek Center for the Arts is pleased to present a solo exhibit of new collages by Robert Tucker. Tucker is a native of Michigan, who has spent the last eight years living in the Sonoran Desert. He has exhibited his work for more than 20 years, with an extensive history of national and international shows, including Fluxus shows in St. Louis and in Kaunas, Lithuania; several appearances in the annual International Collage Exhibition in New Plymouth, New Zealand; and in the Collage/Assemblage Centennial in 2012, at The Ontological Museum in Pogosa Springs, Colorado.

Robert Tucker has worked for many years with collage and assemblage. His current body of work includes collages and paintings made in the last year. He says of this work, "These collages and paintings are influenced by images and shapes in the desert. The challenge I gave myself was to approach the paintings the same way I approach a collage, in construction and composition. The desert reveals many subtleties that delight and enrich my vision. Having a long history with Paint Creek Center for the Arts, it is a joy to share my current vision within its walls."

We’re excited to have Robert’s work here again, and look forward to filling our galleries with the colors and textures of his desert-influenced works.

Please join us in welcoming Robert Tucker at an Opening Reception on Friday, April 20th from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. This opening reception is part of the Downtown Rochester Spring Gallery Stroll.
