$15, doors at 9

One of the most recognizable voices in pop music, Amy Ray has never been an artist to rest on her laurels and Lung of Love is no different, featuring tracks ranging from distorted guitar rave-ups to anAppalachian come-to-Jesus throwdown.  Says Relix Magazine, "Ray's sixth solo album, Lung of Love, released on her own Daemon Records, has songs that range from quirky and intense a la R.E.M., to soulful blues in the spirit of Bonnie Raitt, and punk-y, funky tunes reminiscent of Blondie with a dash of The Replacements."   Backed by Greg Griffith (Bass and Guitars),  Julie Wolf (Keys, accordion), and former Butchies Melissa York (Drums) and Kaia Wilson (Guitars and Vocals), the songs have an urgent, bright economy and a pop sensibility not heard on Ray's previous solo outings. Guest vocalists pop up throughout the record, including Brandi Carlile, Jim James, and Lindsay Fuller, all combine to make this a landmark solo album for the Indigo Girl.
