Black Stone Cherry at the Filmore

Black Stone Cherry is an American rock band that formed in 2001 in Edmonton, Kentucky. The band recently opened up for Chickenfoot at the Filmore in Detroit. Chris Robertson; guitar and lead singer; possesses a soulful, southern voice. Ben Wells on lead guitar is an enormous ball of energy on stage. He never seems to stay in one place for more than a few moments, constantly changing sides with bassist Jon Lawhon. John Fred Young (the son of Kentucky Headhunters' Richard Young) is a show by himself. He plays the drums with his entire body and has a massive curly main that seems to have a life of its own. Between The Devil and The Deep Blue Sea is the bands third studio album and was released on May 31st 2011. Black Stone Cherry also opened up the main stage at the 6th annual Rock on the Range in Columbus, Ohio on Sunday, May 20, 2012.
