MOVEMENT (DEMF) Weekend - KICK OFF - PARTY GUIDE

MCB Guide to the UNOfficial , there are a lot of parties "a la" electronic music happening in Detroit this weekend.

H
ere is the run-down of some of the best places to MOVE outside of Hart Plaza:

THURSDAY 5/24

TRIBE at Grasshopper Underground - FERNDALE

In the great Detroit tradition of small, influential underground clubs like
Bookies 870 in the late 70's and early 80's and then the Gold Dollar in the 90's, TRIBE atThe Grasshopper Underground in Ferndale is using that template of the great underground music clubs- where great names play in a cozy, intimate setting, making that sacred connection between performer and audience in the most personal way- live and up close.

Scott Grooves presents "We almost lost Detroit"
This will also be Scott's Record Release Party for
"The Journey Revisited" Record which will be available for at the event

Detroit Historical Museum Renovation Kickoff

From 8-11p.m. on Thursday, May 24, all are invited to Woodward Plaza outside of the Detroit Historial Museum, 5401 Woodward Ave., to share in one of Detroit's most treasured stories as the birthplace of techno.

The Movement and Renovation Kickoff will be set to the sounds of World Class DJ and Planet-E Communications founder, Carl Craig and opener Keith Kemp.  The pre-Movement party and the Detroit Historical Museum will be open to the public and admission is free.
