‘Too Tough To Live’ finds Dan Sartain operating at the opposite end of his range, with this album becoming a tribute to when punk was real, MAAAAAAN!!!!! 13 tracks delivered in less than 20 minutes; an average rate of a new tune every 1 minute, 30 seconds. Recorded at Lucky Cat, San Francisco, ‘Too Tough To Live’ finds Sartain running fresh out of patience with a whole itinerary of hassles - department stores, death, the unseeing eye, the all-seeing eye, heaven, hell, Vietnam, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays - and YOU! The (UK only) single taken from the album, ‘Now Now Now’, features Jane Wiedlin of The Go-Go's as guest-star - the two met at a brain trust of sorts in San Francisco, known as a Star Track™ convention. After some begging and namedropping from Sartain, Wiedlin was convinced, and the two achieve a forced human interaction paralleled by none!

A rock 'n' roll troubadour, Dan Sartain has been an important part of the American and European music scene for over ten years. He self-released two albums: ‘Crimson Guard’ (2001) and ‘Romance In Stereo’ (2002) before he hit 21. After joining the awesome Swami Records, he released three stellar albums: ‘Dan Sartain vs The Serpientes’ (2005), ‘Join Dan Sartain’ (2006) and ‘Dan Sartain Lives’ (2010). Swami chief John Reis (also founding member of Rocket From The Crypt/Hot Snakes/ The Night Marchers): “as if Jonathan Richman wanted to be Hank Williams instead of Lou Reed, or if the Voidoids were fronted by Hasil Adkins” … “This is the future and the past of the tradition of great voices that have bubbled up from the underground well of rebel thought.” Dan Sartain continues to challenge the humdrum nature of the current music ‘scene’ – check for yourself. 'Too Tough To Live' is released on May 22nd through One Little Indian.
