Showcase Talents at Night of the Arts on June 6

Detroit Middle/High School Celebrates Creative Accomplishments During 2011-2012 School Year

WHAT:

The public will be treated to a visual arts exhibition with some of Detroit's

future artists, designers and creative thinkers at Henry Ford Academy: School for

Creative Studies' Night of the Arts on June 6, 2012. From insect-inspired chair designs,

to re-imagined late model cars, and "blind contour" self-portraits, hundreds of pieces of

student and staff work will be on display throughout the school. The event is free, open

to the public, and will also include live entertainment, a fashion show of original student

designs, and light refreshments. HFA: SCS is the only tuition-free middle/high school in

Michigan where art/design is a core subject, along with math, science, social studies and

English/language arts.
