The Detroit 48 Hour Film Project

The 48 Hour Film Project comes to Detroit on the weekend of July 13 - 15, 2012.

Filmmakers from all over the Detroit area will compete to see who can make the best short film in only 48 hours. The winning film will go up against films from around the world.

Enter today! Space is limited.

This year, teams will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Once the initial registration is complete, we will accept teams for the Waiting List. If a registered team must drop out, we will go to the Waiting List. If there is enough interest, and we can secure additional theater time, we may be able to add more teams from the list.

JULY 13-15: HUNDREDS OF DETROIT RESIDENTS RACE TO COMPLETE FILM IN JUST ONE WEEKEND

MISSION/HOW THE COMPETITION WORKS:
On July 13th, participating teams will gather at the Emagine Theaters Royal Oak where they will be given a genre, a character, a prop, and a line of dialogue they must work into their film. Films submitted even 1-minute late on July 15th will be disqualified.

This year, Detroit will be one of a record 125 cities worldwide – from Beijing to Lisbon - competing in the 48 Hour Film Project. Submitted films will be screened for the public and judged by a panel of experts. The Best Film from Detroit will be chosen and winners will then be in the running for top honors in Hollywood, CA at Filmapalooza 2013, the 48 Hour Film Project’s annual awards.
