UPCOMING: Summer Zoomance @ the Detroit Zoo

The Detroit Zoo Presents
the Second Annual
Thursday, July 12
and
Thursday, August 23
6pm-9pm

This is a 21 and over adults-only event.

The Detroit Zoo is inviting adults to rekindle their childhood love for the Zoo at an after-hours adults-only event called Summer Zoomance.

The 21-and-older evenings are scheduled for Thursday, July 12, 2012 and Thursday, August 23, 2012, 6 pm to 9 pm, rain or shine.  Admission is $10 in advance and $12 at the gate for all guests and parking is $5 for non-members and free for Detroit Zoo members.

Summer Zoomance will allow guests to revisit their childhood memories of the Detroit Zoo while creating new ones during a peaceful twilight stroll among the Zoo's award-winning habitats.  Adult beverages and food will be available for purchase and live entertainment will be located at Rackham Fountain.

Summer Zoomance attendees can visit all their favorite animals and see the many new residents that now call the Detroit Zoo home.  Fresh faces include seven new rockhopper penguins,  7-year-old polar bear Nuka and 13-year-old Amur tiger Kolyma. Also meeting guests for the first time this summer are Mike, Thor and Boo, the three orphaned grizzly cubs rescued from Alaska and brought to the Detroit Zoo last December.

The Tauber Family Railroad will be operating that evening, allowing passengers to relax and enjoy a scenic ride for a one-way fare of $3.
