LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE!!!!! Decibel decimating Danish rockers Volbeat return to Detroit to fill The Fillmore this Tuesday with support from metal veterans Hellyeah and Iced Earth. Still riding high off the success of their 2010 release of "Beyond Hell / Above Heaven", the band shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon this summer. Born in the vein of the sounds and styles of Johnny Cash, Slayer, Elvis with a mix of grease, nuclear energy and tattoos, their sound is not one to be missed. Rocker, metalhead, punk, mosher, whatever you are, Volbeat has a sound for you.
Iced Earth is still making ears bleed with their 2011 release of "Dystopia", with "Into Eternity" singer Stu Block wailing out the notes this time around. They hardly need no introduction to the metal scene, having carried the heart of metal for over two decades now. You couldn't ask for a better band to kick off the night.
Following up on that, super-group Hellyeah hammers down on that intensity touring in support of their new album, "Band Of Brothers", the first release for Eleven/Seven Music. A deliverance of hellfire and whiskey spit in your face with seething fury, this new release kicks off with "War in Me", a straight up in your face, true to roots metal song that blends every nuance of each members prior musical experiences to create the perfect opening track to this searing album. The title track itself speaks volumes about brotherhood, friendship, hard times and good times, a battle cry of a song certain to invoke gratuitous amounts of high fives around bonfires and half-drained kegs this summer.
Check out their new video here, but better yet, get off your ass, downtown and snag a ticket to the show before it's too late.
Band of Brothers is set for worldwide release on July 17.
