Last Thursday Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village hosted a unique summer culinary event. Local blues band Front Street Blues Band provided the entertainment. The menu was entirely sourced locally with Michigan beer, smoked Michigan beef, Zingerman's gelato and more. Highlights included the Garden Gate signature sausages with various innovative and flavorful sides and toppings, fried mac and cheese, and the bbq pulled pork with three house made sauces. This was a fun late summer evening enjoyed by all. After dinner many opted for a complimentary ride on Greenfield Village's historic Herschell-Spillman carousel with giant green frogs in human clothing, zebras, roasters, and other delightful animals.

A few more unique culinary events are coming up this year including a halloween event with a festive fall menu.
Herschell-Spillman Frog
The carousel in Greenfield Village was made by the Herschell-Spillman Company in 1913. No other
carousels had a frog among the animals. The original location of this
carousel is unknown; it ran in Spokane, Washington, from 1923 until
the 1950s.
