Show Preview: Adam Ant The Crofoot Oct 11

After a lengthy hiatus, Adam Ant is back performing live with a new band, The Good, the Mad and the Lovely Posse, touring the US on the Blueblack Hussar tour and has a new album with a really long title coming in 2013. The tour starts tomorrow in Los Angeles and I'm eager to see first takes on his shows because it has been so long since he's played in the US. From what I've seen in his recent pictures Adam is still the "Dandy Highwayman" in his pseudo-pirate garb he was wearing long before Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow sashayed along our movie screens.

I've got a special interest in seeing the show as my favorite albums growing up included the entire Adam Ant back catalog. While my friends were dancing to Michael Jackson or cranking AC/DC I was watching Adam Ant videos like "Stand and Deliver" and considering applying a white stripe across my face. The coolest thing about Adam Ant was he wasn't afraid to say he was straight while surrounding himself with beautiful women.

Adam Ant will bring it all full circle to the Crofoot on October 11. He is quoted as saying he's taking a rawer, punk approach to his latest shows, maybe that means we'll even be lucky enough to hear "Physical (You're So)". Most dates are already sold out so grab some tickets for this show while you still can.  Warming up the show are the Brothers of Brazil, a South American trio that combines rock and funk with samba music.
