GO BACK IN TIME AT THE TODD’S REUNION & RETRO DANCE PARTY!

Travel back in time to the decade of decadence - the ‘80s - to revisit a Detroit dance club that was the epitome of ‘80s glory.

Todd’s, formally known as Todd’s Sway Lounge, was a gay nightclub in Detroit’s 7 Mile and Van Dyke area that was on the cutting edge of the new wave of Eighties music and lifestyle. They hosted bi-weekly dance parties and concerts that catered to a new generation.

The reunions are hosted by original Todd's club impresario, Stirling, and promoter Sue Static. The reunion features the cutting edge original Todd's DJ Charles English spinning the familiar tunes that had you dancing decades ago. DJ Greebo provides the sounds downstairs as you come in. The night will feature drink specials of the drinks that the bar made famous, photo collages from that era and a live online feed of the night for Todd’s fans across the country. The reunion is now an annual Thanksgiving event for locals and former Detroiters who are in town for the holiday.

This year's Todd’s reunion night is on Friday, November 23, the night after Thanksgiving, for patrons of the club to revisit the music and friends of this era. A portion of the cover proceeds will also benefit the Michigan AIDS Coalition in honor of the many Todd’s employees.

The reunion will be at The Corktown Tavern located at 1716 Michigan Ave. in Detroit, next to what was Tiger Stadium. Phone: 313-964-5103. Doors: 9 pm. Cover: $7. 21 & over welcome and. For more information check out www.staticrecords.com/shows.
