My first assignment for MCB was to check out Low Cut Connie / Danny Kroha who played a show Sunday night at PJ's Lager House in Detroit.
This was the first time I got to see or experience their show and I didn't know what to expect. The show started with local legend Danny Kroha and a suitcase drum kit for a harmonic folk set. Although there were a few technical difficulties during the 30 minute set (due to Dannys bridge on his guitar falling out) it brought everyone in the room (including Danny) some good laughs.
Low Cut Connie dawned the stage about 20 minutes later. On a nicely seasoned piano Adam rocked it out Jerry Lee Lewis style, blasting thru soungs like boozophillia, no more wet t-shirt contests, then ended the set with RIO.
The very talented Dan Finnemore stepped out from behind the kit to lead the way on a couple of tunes. It was a very high energy set with the band exiting the stage and gasping for booze at the bar (on more than a few occasions).
The next time these cats are in town, I am definately in for the ride and so should you!
