Show Preview/Interview with Charlie Scene of Hollywood Undead

Preparing for a short warm up tour in January 2013, Hollywood Undead guitarist and vocalist Charlie Scene sat down for a phone interview with me today to talk about their new album "Notes From The Underground" which hits stores on January 8th, their upcoming tour, their fans and other interesting tidbits. Hollywood Undead will be playing at Saint Andrews Hall in Detroit on January 16th, with select local acts opening for them before gearing up for a full fledged tour later this year. A&M/Octone recording artists Hollywood Undead will return to the road early next year in support of their new album Notes From The Underground. The band will be returning to the underground to play small clubs for their die-hard fans on ‘The Underground Tour’ commencing in Los Angeles on release day – January 8th 2013.  Tickets for all shows will go on sale this week.  For special VIP packages and more information visit www.hollywoodundead.com
The official video for the band’s new single “We Are” can be viewed on VEVO beginning today as well.  The clip was directed by Slipknot's M.Shawn Crahan (aka clown).  USA Today has already labeled the song as “an anthem for disenfranchised youth.”
While the band’s roots are in the underground, the band has drawn mainstream attention since the release of their 2008 near platinum-selling debut Swan Songs and its acclaimed 2010 follow-up American Tragedy. Swan Songs has moved well over 900,000 copies, and American Tragedy debuted on the Billboard Top 200 at #4 with first-week sales exceeding 67,000. They've played sold out headline shows all over the world as well as rousing appearances at festivals such as the UK's Download and Rock on the Range, and Epicenter.

The masked Los Angeles collective—Johnny 3 Tears, J-Dog, Charlie Scene, Danny, Funny Man, and Da Kurlzz are excited about the release of their third album.  "We stay true to who we are musically," commented Danny. "If even just one kid identifies with what we do, we've done our job.”
Notes From The Underground was produced by Griffin Boice, Sam & Sluggo, and Danny Lohner, The album emerges directly from that same place behind the curtain, underneath the veneer, and inside the darkest heart of their city. These are their Notes scribed in tears, blood, and truth.  The album will be available on January 8th 2013.  Hollywood Undead will be on the road for most of 2013.
