at The Token Lounge

Join metal mongers A.S.S. for a hard rocking party celebrating the release of their debut CD “E.asy P.ieces of A.S.S.” at Westland’s Token Lounge on Friday. March 1.  Supporting A.S.S. is a formidable line up of hard rock bands including Banned from Hell (Black Sabbath Tribute act focused on the Dio Years and featuring Rachel May of Broadzilla on vocals), Dark Avenger (hot off their appearance with Steel Panther), Mare Crisium and Stone The Herd. Lucky Monkey Tattoo will also be on hand – awarding a $50 gift certificate and prize pack to contenders with the most interesting booty tattoo!

Doors are at 8 pm and tickets are $5 for ages 21 and up, $7 for ages 18 -20. Stone the Herd (featuring Billy Gray from CoDam) goes on promptly at 8:30 pm – so rock fans should get there early!

Prior to the show – A.S.S. is hosting a “Show Us Your A.S.S. Album Cover Contest.” Now through February 23, contestants can submit a JPEG photo of their backsides to asskicksass@gmail.com.  The band will pick three winners to have their derrieres featured on three limited edition alternate A.S.S. album covers – only available at the CD release party on March 1! In addition to being featured on the CD cover – each winner will receive a prize pack from the band, along with free admission to the release party on March 1.

Working with producer/musician (Sponge) Andy Patalan at The Loft Studios in Saline, Michigan, “E.asy P.ieces of A.S.S.” captures the band’s over the top lyrics, and hard driving metal. Fronted by vocalist Brian Thomas of legendary Detroit band Halloween, A.S.S. is a five piece metal band that doesn’t take itself too seriously. “Take three veteran musicians, add two hungry young guns, sprinkle in heavy doses of sarcasm and attitude and crank the volume to 12 and that’s A.S.S!” explains the band’s drummer Foot Hannah (Motown Rage). In addition to Thomas and Foot, cousins TJ and Brandon Richardson shred on guitars, with bassist Chris Taylor (Youthcorpse) thumping out a growling low-end. The band’s name demonstrates their comedic side – A.S.S. is an acronym that stands for everything from Anonymous Super Stars to Already Seeing Someone! Fans frequently email the band suggestions for what each letter should stand for – leading A.S.S. to change its meaning at every show!

“Each band member has a great sense of humor,” adds Thomas.  “Though we’re serious about our music, I think heavy doses of irony, frustration, humor and parody are common elements in our songs.”

“Whether you like early 70's hard rock to 21st century metal, there's always something to love about A.S.S. “ Thomas surmises.

Don’t miss a raucously fun ROCK party at the Token Lounge on Friday, March 1 with A.S.S.!

The Token Lounge is located at 28949 Joy Rd. in Westland, Michigan.
