Show Preview: Baroness @ Saint Andrews Official Orion Festival Pre-Show Interview w/Guitarist Pete Adams

Many bands have suffered trials and tribulations on their ascent to fame and recognition in history, but perhaps none more notable in recent history than Savannah, GA based Baroness, having suffered an almost insurmountable setback in their tragic bus accident which took place mid-August 2012 leaving many family, friends and die hard fans pondering the fate of the future of these gifted musicians to carry on in the wake of that event. Ever resilient, the band members reclaimed their lives from that day like a phoenix rising from the ashes, more determined than ever before to carry the flame that burned within them to pursue their love of music. Spitting in the face of fate with middle fingers raised in defiance, they have conquered the challenges of recovery and rehabilitation, channeling the fiery spirit of the drive they've cultivated over the years that derives all that is Baroness.

Firing up the Yellow and Green tour again a couple weeks ago in Philadelphia with newly added members Nick Jost on bass and Sebastian Thomson on drums to replace respective former band mates Matt Maggioni and Allen Blickle, they've wasted no time in kicking all the world has thrown at them in the face  reclaimed their determination and drive to play their hearts out to the fans who have stuck by them through all the trauma and pain suffered in the past year. Having played on the 2012 Orion Festival last year as openers, they are kicking off the inaugural run of the Orion Music & More Festival here in Detroit as with an official pre-show at Saint Andrews this Friday June 7th on a headlining tour. Guitarist Pete Adams was gracious enough to speak with me over the phone about their return to touring, recuperating, and their triumphant return to the music scene at long last.

Get yourself down to Baroness in Detroit this Friday at Saint Andrews Hall Friday June 7th for one of the most powerful live music shows you can experience and hear for yourself the magic and energy that they put forth. Their music is ethereal, engaging and elicits an insightful, spiritual interrogation of your life, the kind of music you want to listen to on your back deck, headphones on cranked to ten under a clear sky and full lit moon to reflect on life. It will be one of the highlights of the Orion Festival weekend here in Detroit.
