North American Tour Dates July 16-August 17

Today, Tuesday July 9th marks the release Me Moan, the Sub Pop debut from Carlisle, PA’s favorite son Daughn Gibson. The album features the singles “The Sound Of Law,” ”You Don’t Fade,” and “Kissing On The Blacktop”, along with highlights “Phantom RIder”, “Franco” and “The Pisgee Nest”. Me Moan was produced by Daughn Gibson and Benjamin Balcom and recorded at MINBAL in Chicago and mastered by Greg Calbi at Sterling Sound.

Me Moan has earned raves from the likes of New York Times, NPR Music, Rolling Stone, Dazed and Confuzed, The Fly, Uncut, NPR, The Guardian, NME, Stereogum, Tiny Mix Tapes,  and more. NPR Music says of the album, “His 2012 solo debut, All Hell, found his country roots showing through the crackly lo-fi loops and stark piano songs, all of it sticking thanks to Gibson's well-deep baritone. On Gibson's new album, Me Moan, that powerful instrument is still nuanced enough to capture details such as downing an afternoon shot at a local bar ("Kissin on the Blacktop") and breaking into cars with a state trooper's daughter ("The Pisgee Nest"). Country fans will hear a baritone that hearkens back to the likes of Waylon Jennings and the Oak Ridge Boys, while other listeners might detect a trace of Ian Curtis or the drawl of Wall of Voodoo. The homemade solo country-noir of his debut now gets fleshed out by a real band, featuring pedal steel, cello, trombone and Ry Cooder-like guitar work from members of Baroness and Brokeback. Remaining front and center, though, is Gibson's voice, which remains as dark and thick as blackstrap molasses.”
Daughn Gibson will support Me Moan with his previously announced headlining North American tour, beginning on July 16 in Louisville, KY at Zanzibar and ending on August 17th in Brooklyn, NY at Glasslands. Additional highlights include July 19 in Chicago, IL at Pitchfork Music Festival and July 26 in Seattle, WA At the Capitol Hill Block Party.
