Wild At Heart

Just getting ready to get to bed early so I can get to work by 5:30AM which is still an ungodly hour. It looks to be a good week with the Uncle Sam Jam, the Windsor Bluesfest and some great concerts this week. Thursday looks to be the best night with Weezer, Natalie and Taj who all put on great shows. I remember seeing Taj Mahal do a two hour jam session at the Detroit Jazz Fest a few years ago on a rainy afternoon. He puts on a great show and the Ark is a great venue for him. Here are my suggestions for the week so enjoy:

Tuesday (7/09) - Dave Matthews Band w/Grace Potter and the Nocturnals @ Pine Knob

Wednesday (7/10) - Sheila E @ Chene Park, Alexander Zonjic @ Dearborn City Hall Park

Thursday (7/11) - Weezer @ Ceasars Windsor, Natalie Merchant @ Orchestra Hall, Taj Mahal @ the Ark, Rick Springfield and Dennis DeYoung @ Detroit Yacht Club, Thornetta Davis @ Ceasar Windsor's Cosmos Lounge

Friday (7/12) - Bare Naked Ladies w/Ben Folds @ Pine Knob, Shawn Phillips @ the Ark, Javelin @ PJ's Lager House, 'Rockin On The Riverfront' w/the Romantics @ Ren Center, 'Uncle Sam Jam' w/Mark Farner @ Civic Center Park (Woodhaven), Mich Ryder and the Detroit Wheels @ Windsor Bluesfest

Saturday (7/13) - 'A2 Fest' feat Green Jelly and Taproot, etc @ WFC Fairgrounds and Event Center (Ann Arbor), Original Wailers @ the Hayloft, 'Uncle Sam Jam' w/Candlebox @ Civic Center Park (Woodhaven), Karmin opens for Jonas Brothers @ Pine Knob, Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds @ Chene Park

Sunday (7/14) - Bob Dylan w/Wilco and Richard Thompson @ Pine Knob, Thornetta Davis and Savoy Brown @ Windsor Bluesfest

Later in the week, I will be writing a review for the movie "The Attack" which is opening this weekend at the Uptown Palladium. It the meantime, here is a cool video for Taj Mahal to get you through the night.
