"The Power of Myth" and Encaustics: a fiery art demonstration...
“The Power of Myth” is a new exhibition featuring works inspired by ancient and modern traditions of myths and legends from around the world (running September 30 to November 10). The Power of Myth reception is Saturday, October 12, from 7-9pm with live music by The Hand in the Ocean.

Myths can help us grasp the narratives of our everyday existence. Pieces celebrating classic mythology, urban legends, or even some artist’s own dreamlike imaginings will serve as a visual exploration of how myth is woven into the fabric of our lives.

The Ferndale Artists Roundtable meets on the 4th Thursday of each month at 7pm, featuring discussions and demonstrations on a range of topics and styles.

On September 26, Birgit Huttemann-Holz will demonstrate encaustic painting, an art form that incorporates melted beeswax and resin with pigment to create layered, nuanced paintings fused with a torch
