REGAL, COCKHORSE, NARCO DEBUT

REGAL-  is an intricate Detroit rock band that formed in 2002. The four members create a sound described as an innovative form of rock that combines aspects of math rock, post-hardcore, and other indie-rock backed by sophisticated drumming.

COCKHORSE-    (cawk-hawse )N. - 1. Anything used as a toy horse (such as a rocking horse or one knee of an adult).2. The greatest Rock or Roll band since Buddy Busey & the Criggers.   Cockhorse was birthed from Yesticles and some other highly attractive musicians who hate the band AIDS to bring you music for to listen of, too.

NARCO DEBUT- These local young lads released their self-titled debut in June.

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 27- 9 P.M.- $5
BISON MACHINE, MEAN MOTHER, WHALER, SFI

BISON MACHINE-  This massive four legged mammalian assault sounds somewhere between early Sabbath and early 90s stoner rock with face melting goliath guitar riffage dominating their prehistoric soundscapes. Just like the name sounds, muscular, American, and pure sex.  Conceived in a single family wigwam in Indian Village, and thrust from the birth canal in a dusty basement in Hamtramck, Bison Machine rises from the unlikely parents of many former Detroit rock outfits. Come witness the carnage and prepare your appetite for the feast of the Bison Machine soul harvest.

MEAN MOTHER-  Formed in 2003 as a side-project to pay tribute to the music they were raised on.  ZZ Top, Thin Lizzy, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin & Deep Purple were on the turntable & weekends were spent at drag races, riding motorcycles & drinking obscene amounts of liquor around bonfires in the swamps of northern Michigan. MEAN MOTHER has played & developed a devoted following in the midwest.

WHALER-  Stoner Doom-Rock from Bay City.

SFI-  Instrumental Hard-Rock.

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 28-9 P.M.- $5 Minimum suggested donation.
DETROIT BENEFIT FOR JOEY LA CAZE

Joseph M. LaCaze, New Orleans native and drummer for EyeHateGod, Mystick Krewe of Clearlight and Outlaw Orderpassed away on Aug. 23rd in New Orleans after a very successful five week UK and European tour w/ EHG.  LaCaze more than ably handled the task of solidifying the chaos of Eyehategod’s sonic malevolence since 1989, playing on their four studio full-lengths and sundry other releases and touring the world with the groundbreaking sludge five-piece.  He also performed ceremonial voodoo drumming and was in numerous solo experimental electronic projects.  Doctors confirmed to family members the cause as respiratory failure as he suffered from severe long term asthma.   Joey brought music and happiness to this world was salt of the earth and had an amazing ability you make you laugh in any situation. Those familiar with him knew that Joey lived and breathed music and inspired countless peers.  Most of all Joey loved his family and friends.   This benefit is to help his daughter Lilith LaCaze in conjunction with a nationwide campaign to raise funds at benefits around the country.   Please join us all is celebrating Joey's life and helping his family through this very tough time.
