Show Preview: Two Door Cinema Club wsg St. Lucia and Peace on October 18, 2013 at The Crofoot Ballroom

Northern Ireland’s Two Door Cinema Club make their way to Detroit on Friday night, October 18, to The Crofoot Ballroom with a triple bill featuring buzz bands St. Lucia and Peace. Two Door Cinema Club are currently on the road supporting 2012’s Beacon and 2013’s Changing Of The Seasons EP featuring the single “Changing Of The Seasons” produced by French EDM wonderkid, Madeon. Two Door Cinema Club have been making waves in America and internationally since their 2010 album Tourist History, which featured the Alternative Radio hits “Something Good Can Work”, “I Can Talk”, and “What You Know.” They recently announced that they are in the process or recording their third album, which is slated to be released in 2015.

New York up-and-comers, St. Lucia, release their debut album, When The Night, today, October 8, 2013. The synth-pop revivalists have had a banner year, kicking it off with an opening slot on the  Ellie Goulding tour, and playing plenty of big festivals such as Lollapalooza, Governors Ball and Boston Calling. When The Night was produced by the band’s own, Jean-Philip Grobler. Spotify recently placed St. Lucia in their “Emerge” competition, highlighting bands on the ascent. “Emerge” alumnae includes Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Lorde, Chvrches, Atlas Genius and Bastille.  Their January show in Royal Oak was one of the highlights of the year. I’m expecting some big things from this band in the future.

Peace, based out of Birmingham, U.K., will open the show with their brand of indie rock and roll. Their debut US album, In Love, was just released last week and includes the single “Lovesick”. In Love is getting rave reviews from the press, including a 9/10 from NME and 4/5 from The Independent. In Love was produced by Jim Abbiss, who has produced for an impressive list of artists including Artic Monkeys, Sneaker Pimps, Adele, Emeli Sande, The Temper Trap, The Kooks and The Editors. The band finds their influence from the rock music of the 1960’s, 1980’s and 1990’s. For all of you electronic music fans, be sure to check out their spirited cover of Disclosure’s anthem “White Noise.”

Two Door Cinema Club wsg St. Lucia and Peace play The Crofoot Ballroom on Friday, October 18 at 7pm, unfortunately tickets are SOLD OUT!
