Show Review: Lee Brice @ The Fillmore Detroit 11-1-13

A crowd filled with country music fans packed The Fillmore Detroit on Friday, November 1st to see rising star Lee Brice and his recent pocket full of number one singles.

The show began with an energetic set by Detroit's own Matt Austin.  He and his boys brought an uptempo 45 minute set that included their single "Big Black 4wd".  Matt is quickly becoming a staple in the Detroit country music scene, as the crowd of people waiting to meet him after the show proved. You can check him out on facebook Here.

Fans were lined up hours before show time and were ready when Lee took the stage. He would not leave them disappointed.   This headlinging tour features songs off his first album "Love Like Crazy" and his current album "Hard 2 Love". Three songs into the set came his number one single "Hard 2 Love".  The crowd was hooked and there was no turning back.

Lee truly showed his emotions during the show, especially during the songs "Woman Like You" and "I Drive Your Truck", which is a song based off a real-life situation. The song details how a father copes with the passing of his son during combat.  Fans sang the song word for word and there were definitely a few tears shed.

The encore included a surprise for the crowd.  Halloween came a day late as the band burst into a cover of the theme song from "Ghostbusters"   Rehearsed for a rained out show in Nashville the previous night, the Detroit fans embraced an extended Halloween. The show ended with Lee's current single "Parking Lot Party" which was one of the top songs of the summer and is still climbing the charts.

Check out Lee Brice's current record "Hard 2 Love" because it is definitely Hard NOT 2 Love someone who pours so much emotion into their music and performances.
