RE VIEW: Cirque, The DIA Founders Junior Council Bash - "if you've never been to one of its fetes, you haven't lived!" by Bobbi Crawford

If you were out and about this past Saturday night and found yourself asking, "Where are the really, really good looking people at?" The answer is they were all decked out and masqueraded at Cirque, the DIA Founders Junior Council Bash!

It was phenomenal.

You simply cannot find a better backdrop than Detroit's Crown Jewel. Occupying the Grand Hall and Rivera Court DJ Urban Kris performed bumpin' tunes and the Stoli poured all night.
The lighting sumptuous, the snacks scrumptious and the crowd, glamorous.

First class, Bravo DIA!!

Saturday night's Cirque Masquerade Party at the DIA was a gorgeous event, and in the words of one guest, "if you've never been to one of its fetes, you haven't lived! "

Upon turning our car over to the speedy valet, we ladies were warmly welcomed by smiling, masked men in black cloaks, offering strong arms upon which to balance as we navigated the wintry marble steps. An inspired touch. Once inside, we were greeted with more smiles, gracious thanks for our attendance, and a swirl of color and light made all the more magical with the presence of stilt-walkers, magicians, living statues, acro performers and one impish, cheeky mime.  Strolling waiters offered delectables, including fresh fruit, fluffy mousse, one-bite cupcakes and, later in the evening, sliders and Better Made chips.

The crowd was filled with beautiful people.  Or at the very least, average people in beautiful masks. Most were dressed to impress, at least until the ladies began taking of their shoes.  The DIA's marble floors are guaranteed to best even the most dedicated fashionista, particularly those who shimmied on the dance floor until the wee hours.

The bartenders worked their hearts out, and not nearly enough were rewarded for their efforts.  All -inclusive needn't mean no tipping!  Make note for next time, darlings!
