The Detroit Festival of the Arts takes place on the campus of Wayne State featuring top-notch visual and performing artists from around the world mixed in with Detroits very own. There is an Artist's market, 10+ stages of entertainment, a very large children's fair, European street performers, sand sculpture, plenty of diverse food, a costumed parade, and many other special events, all surrounded by city's art institutions.
