This annual juried competition has been one of the most popular of the Lawrence Street Gallery events, to patrons and artists alike. The Gallery expects to juror over 100 works from artists and students all over the Metro-Detroit area.
The theme of the exhibition is the human figure, in all its attitudes and dimensions. The display will include clothed and nude figures, portraiture, abstractions and more. Media will include sculpture, painting, photography and printmaking.

The Juror for this event is Dan Keller, widely known instructor. He has a master in Fine Arts from Wayne State University, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the College for Creative Studies. He currently teaches at Wayne State University, the College for Creative Studies, Macomb Community College, and the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center. He is currently concentrating on painting the figure in acrylics, and has created many large-scale pieces, including numerous wall murals within the Detroit area.

Prizes will be awarded at our opening reception on February 8 at 7:30 p.m.
The public is invited to attend.
