"Paul Geremia is a true wandering bluesman. He has been on the move for more than forty years, performing in every capacity from street singing to the more conventional club and concert venues throughout the USA, Canada and Europe.

In this time, Geremia has built a well-known reputation as a first-rate bluesman, songwriter and "scholar" of early jazz and blues who makes the most of his tools. He is one of the best country blues fingerpickers on both six- and twelve-string guitars. Geremia also utilizes harmonica, piano and his uniquely gravelly voice to create music that's both traditional and fresh in his life performances.

Geremia is a third generation Italian-American from Providence, RI who was raised in a family that moved him across the country multiple times during his childhood. This instability fostered his appetite for music, history and travel that led him down the path he has pursued throughout his life. After a short period at an agricultural college, Geremia hit the road with his harmonica and found paying gigs in coffeehouses and other venues in cities across America during the height of the 1960s folk resurgence.

He worked as an opening act for many of the "rediscovereds," including Son House, Skip James and Howlin' Wolf. Since, Geremia has recorded ten solo albums and appeared on numerous anthologies and compilations. His musical integrity has made him a long-time favorite of critics.

Don't miss this rare Detroit appearance before he hits the stage at Chicago's annual Blues festival! The show begins early: doors at 5pm, music at 7:30pm.
