Hamtramck Bazaar - Across from Paychecks - Sat 10am-3pm

"Where else in town, on a hot, sunny July Saturday, could you find affordable appliances, clothes, CDs and DVDs and collectible jazz rock 'n' roll memorabilia (like a Paul Stanley of Kiss toy racing car)?

Not to mention a place to take your bottles, plastic containers, mixed paper and cardboard to be recycled?

At the Hamtramck Bazaar, of course, which sets up in the Hamtramck city parking lot on Caniff at McDougall every forth Saturday of the month.

The next bazaars will be held Aug. 23 and Sept. 27 at the same location.

Angel Proffitt organized the recycling portion of the event and said she is working toward getting a regular schedule for residents to dispense with recyclables.

"We hope we can do it every month eventually," Proffitt said.
"Or every two weeks is even better. It's a goal that I think we can reach."
