Glenn Corey of Royal Oak and Gary Van Gorp of Oak Park are an integral part of the membership of the Lawrence Street Gallery, a co-op gallery of 28 artists.
The September exhibition features new work by each of these talented individuals.

First and foremost, Glenn "Fuzz" Corey's interest is in the human figure. He invokes sentimentality through his drawings and paintings, some of which reference the Mona Lisa while others combine a thought-provoking juxtaposition of portrait and landscape. His work has been exhibited widely.
Gary VanGorp works in acrylic to create art that is rich and colorful. His landscapes are highly patterned and sometimes whimsical, often populated with animals found only in his own imagination. Other work is powerfully satirical and/or political.
At the opening on September 5, the neighboring Woodward Avenue Brewery will provide refreshments and hordouvres.
