CPOP SUPER SALE - Sept 20th / 21st 2008

©POP Gallery Cleans Out Its Closet!
Influential and Innovative Gallery Begins New Phase

©POP Gallery, arguably the city's highest profile and most influential art gallery, plans a two-day across-the-board art inventory sale from 12 Noon until 9 PM on Saturday, September 20th and 1PM until 6 PM on Sunday, September 21st.

This incredible event kicks off with an invitation-only Artist and Collector Preview on Friday September 19th, from 7 PM until 11 PM. Featured work will be available at serious discounts, with most pieces going for less than 50% of their already competitive (not artificially inflated) prices.

©POP, founded in 1995 in a renovated Royal Oak church basement, has helped launch the careers of many well-known Detroit artists, as well as showcasing and greatly furthering the careers of national and international talents who would never otherwise have been accessible in the Midwest.

In fact, ©POP is one of the very first galleries in the world dedicated completely to the now burgeoning, multi-named aesthetic movement based in western pop-culture.

In 1999, ©POP relocated to its current location in mid-town, precipitating a rush of galleries and artspaces both old and new to open up it its wake. One memorable exhibit after another cemented the gallery's reputation not only in Detroit and Michigan but internationally.

However, in a move to streamline the gallery operation and to help concentrate on new projects and the ultimate branding of the ©POP name into a number of other artistic and marketing opportunities, the Gallery is offering much of it's storied collection in this two-day event at truly unheard-of prices.

Original art by some of the gallery's most storied artists-Glenn Barr, Mark Dancey, Kurt Halsey-Fredrickson, Tyree Guyton, Big Daddy Ed Roth, Davis Sandlin, David Williams, AWOL, Charles Wish, Tom Thewes, Gary Grimshaw, BRUT!, 1940's Original Pulp Art, Derek Hess, Barbara Costello, Ed Big Daddy Roth, Anna Cangelosi, Tara Hackett, Buck Henri, Destroy All Monsters and hundreds of prints, posters and limited editions.
