Scarlet Oaks arrives in tow with their 2008 debut EP, "Innocence Isn't Easy."
On it, five well-crafted songs that cover the genres of folk, soul, garage, indie and classic country are unveiled. Lush three-part harmonies over raw vocals and simple yet melodic instrumentation, Scarlet Oaks wants to make you dance, cry and throw back a few in a Detroit parking lot. The more astute among you may recognize lead singer Steve McCauley from his previous group, Fifth Period Fever.

Mick Bassett & the Marthas is an all-encompassing musical adventure featuring the only two-trombone attack in Detroit. Bassett makes music in the curly-haired singer-songwriter vein. "Bob Dylan" whispers swirl around this young man but the horns add another element altogether making for one of the most energetic and unique shows around the motor city. Woodman is a family band that rocks the acoustic like Kim Deal and are some of the most amiable folks around the Detroit music haunts!

Frank Woodman, songwriter, singer, and rhythm guitar, 19 year old son Derek Woodman on tremolo soaked lead guitar and 17 year old daughter Hillary Woodman with haunting vocals, are Woodman. Registered Nurse and aspiring songwriter Frank, unable to get a band together due to afternoon shift restrictions, recruited his young ones to flesh out his plaintive songs. The experiment worked, with the Woodman voices melding together for some sweet Americana. Songs about childhood joys, lost innocence and stolen car rides, show their love for the American folk song.
