“Plowed” Hit-Makers Sponge to Headline Thanksgiving Eve Bash

Rock radio hit-makers Sponge headline The Ritz for a Thanksgiving Eve Bash on Thursday November 26. Doors are at 7:00 p.m; advance tickets are $12 or $15 the door.

Local rock favorites Frequency 54, Fall From Grace, Ten Inch Sunrise, Blackmail and Silver open the show. Ages 18 and over are welcome to attend. Vendors Blackened Ruby Jewelry and Motor City Ink will also be on hand, adding to the night’s festivities.

Hailing from Detroit, Sponge gained international notoriety with their debut album "Rotting Piñata." Hits like "Plowed" and "Molly (16 Candles)" fueled massive airplay on radio stations from coast to coast and were in heavy rotation on MTV. After "Rotting Piñata" went Gold, the band toured internationally, sharing the stage with Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, and more recently, Iggy Pop and Nickelback. Sponge's follow up CD, the critically lauded “Wax Ecstatic,” includes the hit songs "Wax Ecstatic" and "Have You Seen Mary?”

Now touring in support of their newest CD “Galore Galore,” (Icon/Bellum), Sponge continues to stand out as one of rock’s most charismatic live acts. Sponge front man Vinnie Dombroski's powerful voice, heart-on-his- sleeve lyrics and full throttle stage presence captivates any audience he steps in front of.

The Ritz is located at 23400 Hoover Rd. in Warren, Michigan.
