Ferndale Holiday Ice Festival - Downtown Ferndale - Sat Dec 13th
The Downtown Ferndale Holiday Ice Festival will be a full day of seasonal fun from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, December 13, 2008.
Parking is free all day long and every Friday, Saturday & Sunday, Nov. 28 - Dec. 28th.
The Ice Festival will feature more than 40 ice sculpures carved by world champion carver Tajana Raukar. The unique designed will line the sidewalks in front of participating downtown businesses. Carving demonstrations will take place throughout the day.
Santa Claus will be in town and has confirmed that some of his reindeer team will be with him. Children can check out the reindeer, enjoy Lunch with Santa and then share their dreams when they pose for pictures with Santa at Schiffer Park.
Strolling musicians, fire jugglers, live bands, and hayrides add to the day's festivities of holiday fun. Entries for the Great Cookie Cook Off -- family-favorite cookies made by local bakers -- will be in stores for judging by downtwon shoppers. The cookie judged the favorite will be the Official Ferndale Cookie. More on this contest, later.
Downtown merchants are already getting ready for Holiday Ice Festival. In addition to designing their ice sculptures, they are making counter space for the DDA's Enter to Win program, giving every shopper who makes a purchase a chance to win a $100 gift certificate. The drawing will be held December 15th. Merchants are also decorating their windows in holiday theme to complement the parade of ice sculptures. Window decorations will be up throughout the season.
FREE parking, FREE fun and an atmosphere of holiday joy are all part of the 2008 season, presented by the merchants & business friends of Downtown Ferndale.
