gone!!

Emerging from the thriving roots scene in New York City, this seven-piece band wields an arsenal of instruments (upright bass, banjo, fiddle, backhills harp, Telecaster, and junkyard percussion) with relentless energy and virtuosity.

“Thin Air” is a featured song from Corn Money

can be downloaded at

While jumpstarting new life into vintage country and characterized by THE NEW YORKER as “Citi-billy,” The Defibulators deliver a unique sound that is both timeless and timely, deep fried and downtown. Bug Jennings and Erin Bru’s rich harmonies combined with dark, surreal lyrics illuminate songs that are gritty and witty; spinning big-rig tales of deception, debauchery, depleted bank accounts, fanaticism, vintage firearms, biological anomalies, airline intoxication and animal ennui.

Detroit locals SikSik Nation have a new song for download
catch them out on tour and on March 5th at Smalls for the Hamtramck Blowout

"Trio SikSik Nation radiate raucous rock with a heart, a reckless sort of groove that you can feel, like the sweat of the sound’s forehead spattering down upon you. Their anthems have grit and fire, but also feel very organic, grabbing you and shaking you out of your complacency. Though they assuredly get you swinging, their jaunts are ripe with socially conscious cannonballs as singer/guitarist Sean Morrow howls harrowingly over the earnest, garage-informed swingability of Rick Sawoscinski’s skins and the tense, but freewheeling punk-grooves of Eric Oppitz’ basslines." - Five Three Dial Tone

(3 songs + a remix), Around the Bend.

RCRDLBL premiered an exclusive MP3.
TAGT's song "Around the Bend" was hand-picked by Steve Jobs
for use in the most recent iPod Touch commercial

Each song is a carefully crafted pop gem, guaranteed to get you moving.

TAGT will bring their 6-piece party back to the U.S. in March!

YOUNG LOVE - One Of Us - April 28, 2009
In 2007 Young Love made you dance raucously with the release of his highly anticipated and much buzzed about debut record, Too Young To Fight It. Now, Dan Keyes is still masterminding music that sets dance floors ablaze, but since the release of that debut there's been a shift, a subtle but assured transformation in Keyes that manifests itself in each carefully chosen chord and each deliberately delivered lyric of his thrilling sophomore album, One Of Us. Set to hit via Island Def Jam on April 28, One of Us is a record that is at once energetic and contemplative, moving audiences seamlessly from a dance floor packed with strangers to a room filled with friends.Dan Keyes spent his formative years making music.
A songwriter at heart he was penning tunes at 11 and his first band, indie pop outfit Recover was quickly snatched up by Fueled By Ramen.
In 2005 Recover went on hiatus and Keyes veered off on his own, hopping from coast to coast and finally settling in New York with just a few suitcases and some demos.
The new material was far from what he had created with Recover and so his new project, Young Love, was born.
An instant hit, Young Love, with the release of Too Young To Fight It, could often be found on the road playing sold out shows across North America, heavily buzzed about gigs at major festivals like SXSW and heading overseas to Europe to play for enthralled fans

More On Young Love:

Tortured Soul was born of the simple yet adventurous belief that modern dance music can be performed completely live. Their unique live performances have astounded audiences around the world, from top nightclubs such as Fabric (London) to 15,000+ crowds at the Montreal Jazz Festival, while their recorded oeuvre pushes the genre boundaries of soul, dance, and pop. From their now-classic early singles such as “I Might Do Something Wrong,” to their highly-lauded debut album Introducing (2006 Purpose/R2 Records), Tortured Soul’s style is both an echo of the past and a challenge to the future, combining elements of old soul and funk with a modern dancefloor sensibility.

Tortured Soul is proud to introduce their new album Did You Miss Me on the band’s own newly formed TSTC Records (released on Dome UK/Europe, Columbia Japan), a 13-song set that picks up right where Introducing left off. The title is both a tongue-in-cheek nod to the fans who have been waiting with baited breath for the band’s sophomore effort, as well as an allusion to the primary motif of the album -- travel and it’s various tribulations. Drummer/vocalist John-Christian Urich, bassist JKriv and keyboardist Ethan White have played close to 400 shows together worldwide in Tortured Soul’s 5-year touring history, so it’s no wonder they have transit on the brain.

The album’s opening track “Home To You” is an open-letter to a loved one left behind, filled with optimistic longing, set over a driving dance groove. But with the album’s title track - a hand-clapping retro 60’s romp - the travel theme takes on a slightly more sardonic edge, exploring the feelings of jealously that crop up between distanced lovers. This dark lyrical mood is explored further in the earthy and soulful “Time To Make Up Your Mind,” continued over the poppy disco bounce of “Another Lover, and punctuated with the 80’s-esque electro groove “At the Bottom,” all of which touch on themes of alienation in love, from varying perspectives.
But as much as Did You Miss Me delves into the melancholic and frustrated feelings of travel and distance, it also strikes an inspirational chord with the upbeat message of “Your Dream is My Dream.” On tracks like “In My Fantasy,” “See You More,” and “Special Lady” the album erupts with energy, giving the listener VIP access to the secret and intoxicating soiree that is consummate Tortured Soul.

Much the way the music seems to effortlessly navigate the line between the themes of travel and party, the striking album artwork depicts the the trio skidding across an airport tarmac, waiting in style for a train in Grand Central Station, or speeding along a nighttime highway -- ever dashing, ever on the move. And as it moves through infectious disco grooves, heartfelt raw soul, and various lyrical themes, Did You Miss Me coheres as the group’s most accessibly diverse effort to date, one that’s sure to send their inimitable sound rocketing around the world.
Tortured Soul will be touring the U.S. later this spring.

Anyone who even glanced at the end of year polls for who to watch out
for in 2009 won’t have been able to miss Dan Black’s name.

Off the back of his incredible Notorious BIG cover "Hypntz" and the electro anti-love gem "Yours" – the Parisian-based-Englishman was hailed as one of the pop talents to watch out for in 2009 by critics across the board.Brilliant new single "Alone" looks set to live up to, and exceed, all that hype. A collision of Scritti Politti and Prince, the new single is a euphoric out-of-the-box hit – and highlights Black’s radical, chic and futuristic approach to songwriting. With a soaring cosmic electronic landscape - "Alone" - has an out-of-this-worldness that’s unique to Dan Black.

His highly anticipated forthcoming debut album will be released in May 2009 in the UK and is currently being recorded in an 18th Century cellar under Dan’s apartment in Paris, before it’s mixed by Tom Elmhirst (Hot Chip, Amy Winehouse, The Kills) in London.

Catch Dan and his band live on the road when they join
Boy Crisis and Master Shortie on the Wonky Pop tour this month and March.

If you haven’t yet heard Theresa Andersson
that’s about to change.
She is playing a show March 12th over
at The Crofoot Pike Room in Pontiac

Raised in Sweden but based in New Orleans for over a decade,
Theresa Andersson mines her sonic roots of both homes on
her gorgeous album Hummingbird, Go! (Basin Street Records),
an intriguing blend of breezy, 60s-era pop combined with soul, gospel and Motown
that features guest appearances by fellow Scandanavian Ane Brun
and legendary New Orleans producer and composer Allen Toussaint.

Released to critical acclaim this past September (see press quotes below),
Hummingbird, Go! has sparked interest among music programmers,
the media and other tastemakers around the country.
Even more impressive is her multi-instrumental one-woman live show,
which almost always end with standing ovations from the audience,
as was the case on her recent tour with Ane Brun and Tobias Froberg.
