TROUBLE ANDREW ANNOUNCES LIVE DATES, TOUR WITH SANTIGOLD

With a brand new album for Virgin Records on the way, Trouble Andrew will launch a blitz of tour dates this spring in support of his re-released, self-titled independent debut “Trouble Andrew” followed by a nationwide summer tour.Trouble began his takeover at Irvine’s Bamboozle Left April 5—on a bill featuring headliners 50 Cent, Deftones and Taking Back Sunday. He immediately joins Santigold in San Francisco for a coast-to-coast romp.

Like most born rock stars, Trouble has always been a rebel. Embracing his passion, he dropped out of high school at 15 to live his dream of becoming a professional snowboarder—literally a (half) pipe dream for a kid coming from relatively flat Nova Scotia. He’s no stranger to the rock star life of winning contests, signing endorsement deals (Burton Snowboards and Oakley to name a few), and gaining rabid fans around the world."Chase Money" Video

Trouble has inspired a generation of snowboard kids with his original freestyle riding and unique, signature snowboards and outerwear that have always represented the skateboarding, punk rock, hip-hop, and pop influences of his youth. Trouble’s music paints a similar portrait with strokes of dark pummeling bass and synths, sk8rock guitar riffs and witty, sexually charged lyrics.
It’s the musical equivalent of a dizzying McTwist,
followed by a perfect landing.

Pure ice cold rock n’ roll.Recorded within shouting distance of British Columbia’s legendary Whistler, in a house with a skate ramp out back, Trouble Andrew’s independent debut (later released by Virgin Records) is an intriguing, unclassifiable blend of electro sounds, hip-hop beats and punk attitude. Trouble Andrew’s next outing, the first recorded specifically for Virgin Records, is promising, to say the least.

If you spend a lot of time on the road (and what self-respecting rock-n-roller doesn’t?), you will certainly relate to the overarching them of Tortured Soul’s new album, Did You Miss Me (TSTC Records), a 13-song riff on travel and it’s various tribulations.

The album’s opening track, “Home To You”, is an open-letter to a lover left waiting for their loved one to return, while other tracks explore feelings alienation and jealously that crop up between distanced lovers.

Drummer/vocalist John-Christian Urich, bassist JKriv and keyboardist Ethan White have played close to 400 shows together worldwide in Tortured Soul’s 5-year touring history, so it’s no wonder they have transit on the brain. Their unique live performances have astounded audiences around the world, from top nightclubs such as Fabric (London) to 15,000+ crowds at the Montreal Jazz Festival.

Tortured Soul offer a all-too-rare opportunity to experience soulful dance music performed completely live. Their style echos the past while looking to the future, combining elements of old soul and funk with a live, “rock band” sensibility.

FANTASIES IN US STORES NOW!

Lat week on April 14th - Metric's fourth studio album, Fantasies, is available in US stores. Propelled by its first commercial hit in the US, "Help I'm Alive", Fantasies has already claimed the top spot on Billboard's Heatseeker's Chart and Soundscan's Top New Artists Chart.
Making the #1 ranking more extraordinary is the fact that the album's official release date wasn't until April 14, but a global iTunes exclusive starting on March 31st had fans gobbling up downloads as soon as the digital store had Fantasies available (launching the album into the Top Ten Rock Albums charts on iTunes worldwide).

The album also has been garnering raves from publications including Rolling Stone which calls the album a “set of catchy songs” in a 3 ½ star review, Spin calling it “a welcome return” and Alternative Press referring to Metric as “one of those bands who never seem to go wrong” and calls Fantasies “well crafted and undeniably likeable”, proclaiming that “the band have outdone themselves” and that the album is “Another reason to use the Metric system!”.

INTRODUCING GREYCOATS
A relentless rhythm section sounds the call to arms even as a starry-eyed crooner spins a tale of subterfuge, salvation, and romance. Sterling guitars emerge from shell-shocked feedback. The growl of an overdriven Rhodes dissolves into sparkling delay-saturated arpeggios. Honeyed tones recall Morrissey, shifting the mood from riots to requiems. From their DIY aesthetic, energetic lives shows, and unique instrumentation, Greycoats have garnered comparisons to Arcade Fire, Radiohead, and Sigur Ros.

Greycoats present their full-length debut, Setting Fire to the Great Unknown. The Minneapolis quartet channels Milton’s epic soul while staying grounded in a subtle study of human nature worthy of Steinbeck. It is an album that calls all men brothers, a sonic manifesto declaring the end of polarization and the beginning of empathy.

YOUNG LOVE Announces Tour Dates!
Island Def Jam's Young Love has always danced to the beat of a different drum. America- get ready to follow in their footsteps as they head off on a national headlining tour this spring! Set to pound the pavement with intricate beats, captivating synth lines, clap tracks, and choruses that will stick in your head like glitter on glue, Young Love kicked off the run with a 3 date residency at The Studio at Webster Hall in New York City.
Touring behind their upcoming release One Of Us, set to drop on April 28th, the band will hit major markets across the country including an album release party on April 28 at Whiskey A Go Go, a set at Bamboozle and a Bowery Ballroom stop on June 2 before wrapping the 24 date tour on June 6th at the Beat Kitchen in Chicago. Dan Keyes, the front man and mastermind behind Young Love, spent his formative years making music. A songwriter at heart he was penning tunes at 11 and his first band, Recover was quickly snatched up by Fueled By Ramen.
In 2005 Recover went on hiatus and Keyes veered off on his own, hopping from coast to coast and finally settling in New York with just a few suitcases and some demos. The new material was far from what he had created with Recover and his new project, Young Love, was born. With the release of their Island Def Jam debut, Too Young To Fight It, Young Love was an instant hit and could often be found on the road playing sold out shows across North America, participating in heavily buzzed about gigs at major festivals like SXSW, and heading overseas to Europe to play for enthralled fans.
Having recently played SXSW 2009 to great acclaim, Young Love is ready to set off on tour yet again to recruit smitten fans and strangers alike with their incendiary and charismatic live shows. Don't miss this opportunity to see them live!
Tue June 2 @ Bowery Ballroom in NYC, NY
Thu June 4 @ Grog Shop in Cleveland, OH
Fri June 5 @ The Shelter in Detroit, MI

“In The City”

Wicked Cool Records debuts the video for the Cocktail Slippers single "St. Valentine's Day Massacre" on the label’s website WickedCoolRecords.com. The song, written and produced by Steven Van Zandt, is the title track of the band's upcoming release - out April 28th in the U.S. (and April 27 in Europe). The clip pays homage to the Chicago mobsters of the 20's with scenes shot in black & white, capturing the feel and mood of the time.

The Cocktail Slippers loved playing the mobster roles so much they might give Silvio a run for his money. "Maybe we should start our own TV show -- The Soprano-ettes!" said Modesty Blaze.

The video for "St. Valentine's Day Massacre" was filmed in the Cocktail Slippers' hometown of Oslo, Norway and features the band in dual roles as performers in a speakeasy and as the 'gangsters' who frequent the club.

"Dressing up as gangsters was a lot of fun," said Rocket Queen. "It was such a laugh looking at each other wearing the mobster suits. We really got into our roles, especially Modesty Blaze in the scene where she kicked over the table while we were playing cards, she's very convincing."

"St. Valentine's Day Massacre" was directed by Robert Hayman who had this to say about the video shoot. "I found the band to be extremely open, and creative. The melding of two very different cultures -- Scandinavia and American -- made for a very interesting mix. The girls were fearless and didn't flinch at shooting in frigid below zero weather wearing nothing more than tank tops!"

DOWNLOAD BETTER THAN EZRA'S NEW SONG,
"ABSOLUTELY STILL"

Everyone knows Better Than Ezra.

They're the million-selling band with hits like "Good" and "A Lifetime" that sells out venues coast to coast and enjoys a legion of fans so faithful they've dubbed themselves the Ezralites.

So, what's the story behind that name?

"We have never revealed it, even under duress," says front man Kevin Griffin."
While the band name remains a well-kept secret for now, the seemingly mysterious title of Better Than Ezra's latest project, Paper Empire, speaks right to the heart of a world asking a lot of questions and ultimately discovering the things worth holding onto.

"I was drawn to that phrase "Paper Empire,' Kevin explains. "It seemed apropos given the current economic woes and where we are right now. Most of these institutions in your life -- whether it's love, relationships, your belief system, religious convictions, or politics -- are pretty fragile when it comes down to it. There's a really precarious nature to everything that you hold dear in your life. If you recognize that, you're more likely to do a better job taking care of it."
