White Rabbits are back with their sophmore album "It's Frightening" produced by Britt Daniel of Spoon. Their single "Percussion Gun" is free for download and posting, as well as the amazing video for it. You can also head over to their Myspace now and hear the record in it's entirety. It really is worth the clicking to check it out! The band will also be appearing on The Late Show With David Letterman (CBS) on the May 18th, so be sure to tune in.

After spending the better part of two years on the road (including festival stops at Lollapallooza, Glastonbury (UK), Sasquatch, Monolith and tours with The Walkmen, Spoon, Richard Swift, The Cribs, White Denim and Tokyo Police Club) White Rabbits hunkered down in their Brooklyn practice space to set about re-envisioning the dark pop of their debut Fort Nightly, while adding new sounds and influences to achieve an original work. The result is It’s Frightening, their second full-length album.White Rabbits signed to TBD Records (US home to Radiohead/Other Lives/Hatcham Social) and erected a makeshift studio in their basement rehearsal space to demo new material. Band members popped in and out over the course of several months lending ideas and personality to a new batch of songs that defy instant categorization. After enlisting tourmate, friend and songwriter Britt Daniel (Spoon) as producer, the pair began the process of exchanging demos between Brooklyn and Portland. White Rabbits recorded It’s Frightening over the course of four weeks, only taking a break to play the Transmusicales Festival in Rennes, France. The sessions were recorded by visionary engineer Nicholas Vernhes (Animal Collective, Deerhunter) at Rare Book Room in Brooklyn, NY. Taking special care to recreate the unhinged nature of the original demos, the band utilized the wide range of tools in the analog-friendly studio to shape the personal spirit infused in the new tracks.

Upon the completion of tracking, White Rabbits traveled to Austin, TX to mix the record with studio wizard Mike McCarthy (Spoon, Trail Of Dead) using his exceptional ears to transform It’s Frightening into a uniquely rewarding headphone experience. It’s Frightening plays like a classic reel of tape from start to finish. Opening with the visceral drums of “Percussion Gun,” it is clear that time-off from the road has served the band well. The many highlights include the emotional centerpiece “Company I Keep,” the new sonic territory of “Lionesse” and the macabre lyrics of “Right Where They Left.” Fans of Fort Nightly will find much to go weak in the knees over and new listeners are in for an awakening as White Rabbits flip the switch on an already impressive beginning. It’s Frightening is a journey into the playfully dark musings of Everyman.

The lineup remains the same: Stephen Patterson (vox/piano), Jamie Levinson (drums), Matthew Clark (drums, guitar), Alex Even (guitar), Gregory Roberts (guitar/vox) and Adam Russell (bass). A U.S. tour will follow the May release of It’s Frightening.

THE SOUNDS CROSSING THE RUBICON OUT JUNE 2ND
Free Download "Dorchester Hotel"

Original Signal Recordings is proud to announce the release of CROSSING THE RUBICON, the highly anticipated album from Swedish quintet The Sounds. Set for a June 2nd release, CROSSING THE RUBICON, follows up the successful DYING TO SAY THIS TO YOU, which caught the attention of many for it’s fist-pumping rock, club anthems and sexed up new wave. As a band who has carved out their career by doing things their own way, The Sounds formed their own label, Arnioki Records, and created CROSSING THE RUBICON before choosing a label to partner with, giving them complete control in a rapidly evolving music industry. A partnership with OSR is perfect for a band that deserves to benefit from the career they have built thus far. Together, they will seek innovative and dynamic ways to develop the band in a new climate. Over the last few years, The Sounds have garnered a massive fanbase built upon non-stop touring, two acclaimed records, great film/TV and video game placements and an organic word of mouth response. Renowned for their intense and exuberant live shows, The Sounds have captivated fans around the world by playing more than 500 shows in support of their last album, selling out major venues in over 25 countries worldwide, including the legendary Hollywood Palladium (to the delight of 4000 fans).

The band has been confirmed as support for No Doubt this summer, along with a series of headlining dates (please see below for North American dates). Recorded in Sweden, Los Angeles and New York, CROSSING THE RUBICON continues to deliver gripping hook-filled songs full of the punch and swagger that helped bring the Swedish quintet from Helsingborg to the world. With songs that have an undeniable energy, like the dance electro-funk of “Beatbox,” and the powerful combination of heartfelt emotion, soaring guitars and synth-pop on first single “No One Sleeps When I’m Awake,” the new album presents a deeper version of the sound that established the band as one to watch.

There’s a crystalline method to Infusion’s madness, an m.o. you can trace back to the name the Australian trio picked to represent its music. A blind sampling of body-moving rock, dance and pop, their 2002 debut Phrases and Numbers blurred lines and commanded hips to shake so masterfully SonyBMG scooped the band up immediately. In 2004, their second LP Six Feet Above Yesterday landed on Rolling Stone’s Top 50 Records list and the rest, as they say, is history – history in Australia, the UK, Japan, the ol US of A and beyond.

Riding the praise on multiple cross-continent tours (123 different cities in 39 countries, to be exact), the group landed on stages with Bowie, Basement Jaxx, N.E.R.D. and the mighty New Order. In between touring stints, Infusion has spent much of the past two years in the studio recording their endlessly-anticipated new album. Excuse us if we can’t contain our excitement to say this, but the first single is due later this year, with the LP set to follow shortly after.

The old model -- form band, ink deal, sell records like hotcakes -- succumbed long ago to a newer paradigm, one that puts the power in the hands of the artist and in the ability of a song to snake its way through the internet’s back alleys and side streets and into the speakers of the masses.

Emile Mover – conceived in Miami Beach, born in Montreal, raised in Toronto and currently residing in New York City – set her songs off on their journey not long ago. Without a label, an agent, or any of the accoutrements of that outmoded model.

But in their short lifespan they’ve already found the ears discerning music fans the world over, not to mention music supervisors – check the recent Sears spot, and you’ll hear Mover’s delicate acoustic strum and that soft, supple voice; tune in on any given week to Grey’s Anatomy and the soundtrack could be here. Born to jazz saxophonist Bob Mover, it’s no wonder Emile has the gift. Witness it yourself via the beautifully-drawn video for “No Words” below.

MP3: Brand New
Video: No Words

Currently playing to those lucky enough to have found her music throughout New York, Emilie has a May 16th day show lined up at Rockwood Music Hall, an appearance at the Living Room slated for May 19th, and a concert at Toad in Cambridge, MA. You’re not in New York and Cambridge, you say. Fair enough, these songs will find you eventually.

And, if they don’t, just turn on your TV.
