BAZAAROWEEN - RIC Detroit - Sat Oct 31st 1-9pm

The Russell Industrial Center, the Russell Bazaar and the people involved in producing the BAZAAROWEEN would like to show the youth, ages 5-17, from the region ways to have fun through celebration, creativity and initiative.
The BAZAAROWEEN is a yearly event that will continue to grow and draw involvement. In its first year the event had 300 children in attendance and it is projected that this number will multiply to 1,000 this year with the enhanced event programming and expansion of offering prizes to youth who are excelling in the community.
In addition to the yearly Trick-or-Treating at over 130 merchants, this year they are adding a haunted house, craft areas for the youth to create, live performances, and a rewards wall, where youth who have been nominated for their exemplary grades, attendance records and civic service, can choose a treat that goes beyond candy. The rewards wall provides something more than just candy, the rewards will range from mentoring sessions, to family meals at a restaurant, to gas vouchers to gift certificates. The Russell Bazaar hopes to have hundreds of inspiring rewards to provide for youth in the city who are excelling in school and showing civic pride.
While at the Bazaaroween, parents and teens can also visit the Russell Bazaar Education Fair. Learn how higher education can help you achieve your goals. Explore the possibilities at this education fair, featuring 6 participating organizations, and sponsored by the University of Phoenix.

BAZAAROWEEN takes place at the Russell Bazaar, Detroit's weekend marketplace.
The Russell Bazaar cares about the backbone of the community and seeks to empower the families that keep it going. The Russell Bazaar encourages and welcomes ideas and community involvement because they believe in the power and innovation of Detroit's citizens.
