The Ruiners - Heidelberg / Club Above Ann Arbor - Saturday, November 14th

Detroit's musical reprobates,
THE RUINERS
will be crashing Ann Arbor’s CLUB ABOVE at HEIDELBERG,
Saturday, November 14th 2009
Doors at 8PM

Rounding out the bill are, THE HEATHENS, KEN'S LOUD BAND, LAWNCARE and from Chicago, RAMONES tribute band, GABBA GABBA HEY.

Always loud, theatrical and riff heavy, The Ruiners will showcasing new songs for their soon to be released CD,Featuring the double frontal attack of Rick Ruiner and Russian émigré, the punk priestess, Nina Friday, The Ruiners have been wreaking Rock & Roll havoc for a decade, and show no signs of slowing down-or starting themselves on fire.

Punk stalwarts The Heathens (also from Chicago) will headline and this show will also see the re emergence of Ken's Loud Band featuring avant Pop songwriting genius, Ken Stanley and drummer extraordinaire, Doug Gourlay- both longtime Frank Pahl collaborators from the legendary art band, Only A Mother and also solo work.

Stanley, the cousin of Blue Grass legends The Stanley Brothers, writes majestic, baroque and quirky Rock songs which run the gamut from the Bee Gee-esque, "The 1911 Boston Molasses Disaster" to "Stigmata" which illustrates the social difficulty of involuntarily bleeding from the hands and feet. Stanley (and his band of 12 years) rarely play live -the last time at the 2007 Detroit Fringe Festival as Minnie Krueger Buys The Farm, but with a recorded output of over 400 songs, The KLB will no doubt find something appropriate for this Punk heavy show.

Admission $5
