Everyone knows that in an art gallery the art is off limits to touch, but in Please Touch, a show of new art at Cranbrook's Forum Gallery, invites visitors to do just that—touch the art. Curators Tricia Stackle and Corina Reynolds have put together a show that depends on viewer interaction. This interaction plays a symbiotic role in the viewing process; it completes the work, coupling physical activation with traditional viewing.

Each of these pieces is made with the viewer's interaction as a key component of communication.
Please Touch raises questions about how a viewer physically interacts with a work of art in a gallery,
and will provide an opportunity for community-wide activation, discussion, and critique of physical interaction as a tool of expression.

Please touch opens to the public at 6pm on Friday February 19th.

An interactive performance will start at 6:15pm the night of the opening.
Forum gallery is open 10-5 Monday-Wednesday and 6-9pm Fridays.
Forum Gallery is located on the Cranbrook Academy of Art Campus
at 39221 Woodward Avenue Bloomfield Hills, Michigan 48304.
