Wild At Heart
It has been a pretty boring week with the exception of seeing NRBQ in concert. Still, I was surprised seeing on the news the issue of Detroit's bankruptcy. It is something I had talked to people about for years but it is something you think the politicians, etc will take care of and prevent. One would always think with all the money in the area between the car companies, sports athletes, entertainers (Kid Rock, Stevie Wonder, etc) and various tech people you would think that would balance out those not so lucky. It just goes to show that despite an area having lots of money, the rich seem to have isolated themselves so as not needing to truly care about those less fortunate then themselves. With the disparity of education (just compare inner city Detroit schools to Birmingham or Rochester) and one can wonder how this can happen and how it really impacts the region. How can an area that has so much wealth fall so far? It is almost too depressing to think about so if you want something more fun to do, check out these shows:
