Cherie Currie rocks

Wild At Heart
Saw a bit of sleet on the way home from work which I am not definitely not ready for. At least it was nice last night on the way home last night went I went to see Cherie Currie. I'm not sure if anyone remembers my interview with her when she was in Detroit promoting the Runaways movie. She is looking good for her age and still as upbeat as ever. I heard about this show last minute and didn't know what to expect but she was doing mostly Runaways material which was awesome hearing even though her voice lost a little energy. Her willingness to get into the audience and have fans help with the chorus makes this a very intimate and fun show to see. She played fan choices from Facebook as well as covers of Lou Reed (a favorite of the Runaways) in an honor of his passing and David Bowie ("Rebel Rebel" which she did a nice job with). She surprised me when she took the stage in a Lita Ford shirt since they are known for not getting along but they are coming out with a duet of a Christmas song this year (I also thought she would do something with Joan long before Lita) as well as coming out with a new album.
Produced by Matt Sorum (of Velvet Revolver and Guns N Roses fame), this album will have guest appearances by Slash, Billy Corgan, Courtney Love and Juliette Lewis (I want to hear that track). It sounds like it could be an interesting album so rock and rollers better keep an eye out for it. She won't be in Detroit this year but serious road trippers could travel to Lee's Place in Toronto on 11/12 or This Ain't Hollywood in Hamilton, ON on 11/13.
